For this mug, I was inspired by the texture peonies have in different stages of bloom. Peonies are also a symbol of wealth and prosperity in Chinese culture. The peonies were carved with the sgraffito technique.

  • B-mix fired to Cone 5/6.
  • AMACO Velvet underglaze for the flowers.
  • Lead-free food-safe glaze.
